5 Natural Ways to Avoid and Counteract Headaches

Headaches really can be a pain if you need to get some work done. It really grinds your day to a halt when you have a crippling headache, so here are my top five remedies for headaches.

Drink Water

Most headaches are caused by dehydration so be sure that your first resort is to get yourself a nice glass of water. Remember, by the time you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. Be sure to drink small amounts often throughout the day to avoid headaches from dehydration altogether.

Up Your Omega 3 Intake

If a headache is caused by an inflammation then a healthy dose of omega three will help to fight it off in no time at all. Try eating fish (salmon is a good choice), flax seeds are also a good source of omega three. There are also Omega 3 capsules that you can take, but that is less natural.

The Peppermint Defence

Headaches that are triggered by smells can sometimes be eased or completely gotten rid of by sniffing peppermint. Peppermint in particular seems to have a pain relieving affect, but you can also find other smells that do the same job. For me camomile works quiet well.

Ginger is Good for Your Soul

If your headache is causing you to feel nauseous than try to have some ginger. I don't recommend eating it raw but be sure to eat something that has a bit of ginger in. Sorry guys that doesn't mean ginger ale or that ginger and elderberry juice you love. Ginger is also great for an upset stomach.

Bath and Bed

If none of those have worked for you, run yourself a nice warm bath and soak for a while. If you still have the headache go a lay down for an hour and a half.

5 Easy Food Tips That You Can Start Using Today

We are living in a world of chemicals and processed sugar. It can be overwhelmingly difficult to live in a more healthy and natural way but here are a couple hand picked tips to make your life a little easier.

Avoid Microwaved Food

We all have those lazy days where we look to the microwave like some sort of godly kitchen spirit of easy food, but stop! By microwaving your food you are causing a chemical reaction to occur and change the molecular structur of your food. A microwave causes water molecules to resonate at a high frequency and turn to steam (this is what heats your food). The nutritional value of your food is depleted and you also run the risk of the dreaded 'hot spots' which can easily go undetected since microwave cooking generally yields uneven heat.

Freeze Your Chocolate

Your on a diet but cant resist the allure of the sweet brown treat. Well don't, simply freeze your chocolate bar, this makes it last much longer and makes you feel like you have eaten more chocolate and helps you to obey a good health routine. Why deny yourself when you have a method like this?

Small Spoon for EVERYTHING

Eating with a small spoon makes you feel like you have more food since it takes a lot more trips from food to mouth to eat. It's similar to freezing chocolate since you aren't actually denying yourself but simply tricking yourself into thinking you've had more

Be smooth

A lot of people hate the taste of anything green so rather than eating it why not turn it into a smoothie? You'll be amazed how flavorful and delicious a good smoothie is, why not try:
Three sticks of celery, one pair, one apple and six carrots in one smoothie?

Don't count the calories

Don't focus on your weight, you'll make yourself feel depressed. Instead shift your focus to finding healthy food that you enjoy. Change your mindset, this is the only real way to make any changes in your life.
